How to maintain a double-end small spring balanced seal

The failure mechanism of a double-end small spring balanced seal is basically the same as that of a single-end mechanical seal, mainly the failure of the sealing surface. During the operation of the pump, the heat generated by friction and stirring will increase the temperature of the sealing surface. In addition, due to the influence of the medium, the medium on the sealing surface will be gasified, the sealing ring will be deformed, thermally worn, and even thermally cracked. Some media will intensify solidification, polymerization, crystallization, coking and corrosion when the temperature changes. Various abnormal working conditions will aggravate or directly lead to seal failure in a short period of time. The main reason for seal failure is the problem of operation. Therefore, doing a good job of daily maintenance and providing it with a reasonable working condition is a prerequisite for the normal and good operation of the seal. The following points should be guaranteed for daily maintenance.


1) Before starting, check whether the auxiliary device is normal, ensure that the liquid level and pressure of the sealing liquid system are within the operating range, and that the seals are good everywhere. Turn the steering wheel to fill the machine seal with liquid through the double-end mechanical seal pump ring.


2) Do not evacuate the pump to avoid dry friction on the sealing end face.

3) Check the auxiliary devices regularly to see if they are working properly: a. Pay attention to the position of the sealing liquid level. If the oil level is low, add oil frequently. If the pressure is low, add air to maintain the pressure. b. Discharge the leaked liquid regularly. c. Check the cooling water pipes and flushing pipes regularly to prevent blockages and prevent sudden water outages that may cause poor cooling and flushing effects and seal failure. 4) Prevent the machine from vibrating or heating itself and affecting the seal. a. Pay attention to abnormal sounds. Vibration may cause the anti-rotation pin to loosen or fall out. b. Pay attention to abnormal heating, such as whether the bearing heating is normal and make reasonable adjustments.
